Tir na nÓg

Tir na nÓg —For Francis

“¿David, qué es ‘Tear Na Nog-gay?’” you ask, hesitant, mispronouncing the Irish—

“what’s Tír na nÓg?”—and I start

to fall in love with you.

We were 20 when you asked me that.

They call it Rúa Nova because of the street it’s on:

our corner table, veined white marble

on cast-iron legs, the café doesn’t have a name.
