Civil Disagreement

Civil Disagreement

A punky young woman

muffled in a PLO scarf, dark-eyed,

all determined anarchism and the Basque mullet,

gets on the bus—an old, blue 1950s city bus—

and says to the driver in galego:

“Praza Roxa, por favor.” Red Square.

A man with a black moustache

growls in Castilian:

“¡Plaza José Antonio Primo de Rivera!”
